Yes, ‘Inferno’ is a genuine, isolated island in South Korea. While it may seem far removed from civilisation, the reality is that it is situated off the coast of Incheon, not far from Seoul. Saseungbong-do is a privately owned island transformed into ‘Inferno’ for the show. The uninhabited island is in Jawol-myeon, Ongjin County, Incheon, and has previously appeared in Running Man, 2 Days & 1 Night, and Dad! Where Are We Going? Locally known as Sado, it is not easily accessible to the public. A special permit is required to visit this place.
