Cooking Maniac’s Cod milt with curry butter sauce

Cooking Maniac offers diners a unique concept that combines traditional bistro dishes and creative cooking techniques, from searing to blowtorching. As the judges said upon witnessing his non-traditional methods of cooking, “The job requires a little bit of craziness.” His dishes always turned out to be favourable enough to get him to the next round. His signature dish, a cod milt with curry butter sauce, might not be readily available at his restaurant Deepin, but there are plenty of other unique dishes and flavour combinations that you can try, from carrot jerky to Hokkaido scallop tartlet and olive ice cream.

Jung Ji-sun’s dumplings
Known as the ‘Queen of Dim Sum’, Jung Ji-sun operates a popular Chinese restaurant chain, Tian Mimi, renowned for its authentic Sichuan cuisine. You can try her signature dumplings, from Steamed Garlic Shrimp and Truffle Shaomai to Tomato Tangmian and Soup Dumplings. One of her signature dishes, which she recreated at the Culinary Class Wars show, is Siraegi Bath, a Chinese-style dessert. Made with dried radish greens as caramelised candy floss, it is a unique dish that is not yet available at her restaurant, but we live in hope!

Triple Star’s lobster with pepper sauce
Kang Seung-won, aka Triple Star, is one of the most popular black spoon chefs in Culinary Class Wars. His signature dish, lobster with pepper sauce, won hearts in the first round, with the judges letting him advance to the next round without a hitch. Triple Star owns and operates Trid, a fine-dining restaurant that serves Western-style course-by-course meals. While his signature lobster dish might not always be available due to the daily changing menu, there’s plenty to look forward to, including Korean Hanwoo sirloin steak, grilled Mero fish, and sesame ice cream.

Edward Lee’s Turkey ramen
Revered for skillfully blending Southern and Asian flavours, Lee uses a leftover Turkey carcass for making the base stock. Finely grated parmesan, although an unexpected twist, brings out and ties together the taste of the other ingredients in the Ramen broth. His restaurant, 610 Magnolia in Louisville, Kentucky (USA), serves seasonal tasting menus, which are changed from time to time to include new ingredients or recipes. While Turkey ramen might not be on the menu all the time, items such as rose veal tartare, Farmer Joe’s Duck Breast, pickled mussels, fig tart, and Butternut Squash and Goat Cheese Agnolotti are part of the current menu. Jang Ho-Joon’s Kansai-style Sukiyaki

Jang Ho-Joon, one of the white spoons in Culinary Class Wars, operates several restaurants, including Negi Live, Negi Dining Lounge, Modern Oden, Negi Sukiyaki, Negi Unagiya, and Negi Sylvie. His signature dish, and a favourite among fans, is the Kansai-style sukiyaki, made using top-grade 1++ Hanwoo beef and his special sukiyaki sauce. Another signature dish, Kuro Tamanegi, which is a whole roasted onion, charred but not overcooked and served with a miso glaze and crispy leeks, is also available at the restaurant.

His Halibut Seaweed Soup was an instant hit among the judges and fans watching at home, especially because it seemed like the perfect blend of tradition and creativity, with deep umami flavours. The winner of the Culinary Class Wars, Napoli Matfia is well-known for his pasta recipes, which combine Italian and Asian influences to create unique dishes.
