Travel and accelerate global expansion with the design of new user journeys all at once, from health check-ups to beauty
The number of foreign medical tourists visiting Korea exceeded 1 million last year. According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, 1.17 million foreigners visited domestic medical institutions last year, double from 600,000 in 2023.
In the current status of medical tourism at the Korea Tourism Data Lab, the total amount of medical consumption of foreigners for medical treatment and treatment is increasing every year to 1.2583 trillion won.
In line with the growing global interest in medical tourism in Korea, TripVitoz has announced a global service update centered on K-Medical. The reorganization is centered on reorganizing the information structure to make it easier for overseas users to navigate and book Korean medical services.
The key to this update is the newly established K-medical exclusive tab. In addition to multilingual support, including Japanese and Indonesian, Korean hospital and clinic information is systematically organized to provide highly reliable information to overseas users.
The barrier to entry was lowered by composing various contents necessary for medical tourism such as procedure guidance, hospital service introduction, and procedure guide. In particular, it has become possible to search for each purpose of visit, including areas that are in high demand overseas such as beauty, skin, and health checkups.
In addition, the expansion of multilingual payment methods provides direct convenience to tourists visiting Korea. By adding global payment methods such as WeChat and Alipay, it has established an environment for local users to make reservations without complicated payment processes.
It also introduces video and tryptalk translation functions to help tourists visiting Korea make decisions by checking the actual treatment review in various languages.
In addition, the map-based search function can be improved to compare accommodations around hospitals and nearby convenience facilities at a glance, providing essential information intuitively to visitors for medical purposes. The usability was increased by reflecting the actual behavior patterns of users who travel and medical purposes at the same time.
TripVitoz actively supports the expansion of the global inflow of medical tourism in Korea through this update centered on K-Medical. The new experience of connecting medical care, accommodation, and content creates a more convenient medical travel environment for overseas customers.
“The K-Medical-only tab is an essential function for overseas users who consider travel and medical care together, and it focuses on strengthening trust-based access to Korean medical institutions,” said Kwak No-heung, head of TripVitoz. “This update is designed to lead to actual reservation conversion beyond information delivery, and we plan to actively respond to the expansion of global demand for medical tourism in the future.”
